As with all notation, this is only a rough guide to the tune. I have deliberately given it here as Hamish wrote it rather than as I sing it. My interpretation of it is radically different and is a highly personal view of the song. If you want to try interpreting it as I do, you'll have to spend some time living inside my head to see what I see when I sing it (not really something I would advise any sane person to try.) Learn it first the way Hamish wrote it, then interpret it in your own way. At least, that's what I did.
